Hop into 100 years of History of The American Friends Service Committee
September 21 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Information:Join us on Thursday, September 21st from 5 pm to 7 pm for an exhibit celebrating the centennial of an important organization with many ties to the Triad community - the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). Local Quakers were among the first AFSC service workers providing relief work in war torn Europe a century ago. The first AFSC office in the southeastern U.S. was established 70 years ago with an office at UNCG and undertook important work with school desegregation and other social justice issues of the day. The AFSC, with a local office near Guilford College, continues to do important work in our community today.
HISTORY IS FOR EVERYONE!! Pop in any time between 5 pm and 7 pm to browse through the exhibit. The exhibit will be kid friendly and dogs welcome as well. We hope that you’ll join us for this great opportunity to learn more about local history and archives while enjoying your favorite beer!
